Frederick Reiken is an American author from Livingston, New Jersey known for his novels and short stories. Reiken attended the Pingry School,〔Wilson, Judy. ("What Exit?" ), ''New Jersey Jewish News'', December 20, 2007. Accessed February 12, 2011. "A year later, he was enrolled in the Pingry School in Martinsville. 'I had two friends — the two other Jewish kids in my class. I went from being part of the gang in grade school to feeling like a very peripheral kid with a couple of friends.'"〕 Princeton University and the University of California, Irvine.〔 His first novel, ''The Odd Sea'', won the Hackney Literary award and was selected one of the best first novels of the year by ''Library Journal'' and ''Booklist''.
